Often when we think of Southern Africa our minds drift immediately to safari. We see wildlife on rolling plains of grasslands and acacia trees. But there is so much more than that. Southern Africa is home to some of the most beautiful – and underrated – landscapes on the planet. It’s an absolute playground for photographers.
This photography tour will take you on a mild adventure through the best that South Africa and Lesotho have to offer.
We’ll start in the stunning city of Cape Town. Then, we’ll cruise along the garden route and into the epic wild coast. Eventually, we’ll cut inland stopping at Addo Elephant National Park. We’ll go to Leotho, one of the most photogenic places on the planet and visit its gem: Melatsunyane Falls. Then, we’ll dive over Sani Pass and into the iconic Drakensberg Mountains before capping it all of with a safari in Kruger National Park.
Join us on what is guaranteed to be a memory card-filling, epic adventure.

TRVL° Trip Style
Comfortable Adventure: The TRVL° Photography Comfort Series blends discovery with ease, offering journeys that immerse photographers in inspiring destinations without sacrificing rest or relaxation. These trips are designed for those who seek meaningful adventure with a gentler edge. Capturing remarkable stories while enjoying comfortable accommodations, smooth travel, and a pace that prioritises both creativity and comfort.
How is the Accommodation?
Southern African accommodation is very comfortable. We’ll be staying in lodges the whole way through. They will mostly fit into the 3-star category with the occasional 4-star.
The lodges inside Kruger National Park are almost like little cities. They have cafes, swimming pools, and are overall extremely nice.
Fitness Level 2: There is quite a bit of driving on this trip, but nothing too off-road. There is some walking. In the Drakensbergs there is an optional day of hiking, but – of course – you can choose to skip that and explore things from the ground level instead.
“Semi” Self-Drive: It’s imporant to note that this is a “semi” self-drive trip. That means that participants will have the option to drive. There will be one 4×4 for every 4 participants. Brendan will drive one of the vehicles. But, each vehicle will also need at least one other driver. There is no requirement to drive. But if you’d like to, you may be one of the “drivers”.

What is TRVL° All About?
In short, the motto is: “Explore. Adventure. Capture.”
One of our goals is to create beautiful photos, yes. And we will. But our larger goal is to connect with the destination we travel, and to create memories. We want our participants to feel empowered by the experience. We want our participants to walk away feeling like they captured great images, and even better stories.
We work with local tour operators and photographers in order to empower the photography community in the destinations we visit. And in working with these local photographers, we help connect our tour participants with the locals on a way that is so special.
