11 Days | From €5249 Twin Share
In 2027 we will return to Bolivia, running a classic TRVL° Photography adventure in the heart of the Altiplano. As you know, a big part of travel photography is getting to places that are a little bit wild and even uncomfortable. It is these rugged destinations, so heavily shaped by harsh natural conditions, that often lead to the best photos and the best stories.
Our 11 day photography adventure in Bolivia takes you high up onto the Altiplano, the vast high plains. Up there, you will experience the wonder of the Salar de Uyuni, take in the epic sight of multicolored mountains, and watch flamingos prance through red desert lagoons.
There are few places on earth that so perfectly capture the essence of travel photography as Bolivia does. Here, you will photograph landscapes, wildlife, people, and more. Join us, along with special guest Nick Page, on this incredible adventure.

TRVL° Trip Style
Comfortable Adventure: The TRVL° Photography Comfort Series blends discovery with ease, offering journeys that immerse photographers in inspiring destinations without sacrificing rest or relaxation. These trips are designed for those who seek meaningful adventure with a gentler edge. Capturing remarkable stories while enjoying comfortable accommodations, smooth travel, and a pace that prioritises both creativity and comfort.
How is the Accommodation?
Thankfully, over the years the accommodation on the altiplano of Bolivia has greatly improved. We’ll be far from the comforts of the city, but the accommodation is quite comfortable throughout.
High altitude will be the biggest difficulty. All we can do is manage our time to acclimatize properly, rest and drink lots of water.
Fitness Level 2: Some longer walks, longer/bumpy drives. But no hiking or seriously strenuous activity. High altitude will be the biggest obstacle.
Pre-Tour Acclimatisation Add-on
Pre-Tour Option
We have learned that having a few pre days in La Paz is important for acclimatisation and realised that most of the group were doing this anyways. Therefore we have decided to organise a proper pre-tour acclimatisation add-on. This will run for 3 nights and two full days with the main goal to get ourselves used to the higher altitude.
We’ll stay slightly lower in the valley below La Paz and do photography focused day trips around the city, slowly acclimatising everyday. Nothing too strenuous, just to get you used to the altitude. We work with a local guiding company to help organise these experiences.
Pre-tour Itinerary:
- Pre-tour Day 1: March 10th, 2027 - Arrival day. Transfer to hotel. Welcome Meeting.
- Day 2: Cable cars around La Paz, witch's market and city walking tour.
- Day 3: Sunrise shoot followed by a full day touring the Valle De Las Animas. Sunset back at a view point overlooking La Paz.
- Day 4: Optional sunrise shoot nearby the hotel, breakfast then transfer up to the city hotel for the first official day of the main tour.
The price of the pre-tour add-on is €749 which can be added to your final payment invoice. Please keep in mind that this itinerary is also subject to change depending on weather and access to the photography locations and the Valle De Las Animas. The single supplement for this add-on is €249.

Post-Tour Jungle Add-on
Post-Tour Jungle
There is also a post-tour extension into the Bolivian Yungas jungle available if you are interested. We will be based the entire time at a jungle eco-lodge in Coroico, with daily excursions focused on wildlife photography, cloud forest birding, immersive landscapes, and visits to coffee, cacao, rivers, waterfalls, and a wildlife refuge, with opportunities to photograph species such as toucans, tanagers, hummingbirds, cock-of-the-rock, parrots, spider monkeys, and capuchins.
It is a transition from the high-altitude Altiplano of the main tour into a warm, humid cloud forest ecosystem, offering a completely different pace, climate, and photographic style, and a strong contrast to the Salt Flats and Andes landscapes.
Post-tour Jungle Itinerary:
- Post-tour Day 1: March 23, 2027 - On return to La Paz from Uyuni we will transfer to a city hotel and rest for the day before beginning the post-tour jungle trip. Dinner included.
- Day 2: Drive from La Paz to Coroico via the Yungas Road, stopping at key viewpoints along the way to photograph the famous Death Road and surrounding cloud forest landscapes. Continue descent into the jungle and check in to the eco-lodge. Sunset photography over the valley and surrounding ridgelines.
- Day 3: Full day guided birding in the Yungas cloud forest and foothill jungle zones, searching for toucans, tanagers, hummingbirds, cock-of-the-rock, parrots, and mixed canopy flocks. Afternoon free for editing or short jungle walks near the lodge.
- Day 4: Half-day coffee plantation experience at a local Yungas finca such as Café Munaipata, including harvesting, processing, and tasting with strong documentary photography opportunities. Continue into deep jungle rivers and waterfalls for landscape and long-exposure photography in lush tropical scenery, including coffee and cocoa agroforestry landscapes.
- Day 5: Wildlife refuge visit to La Senda Verde Animal Refuge in Yolosa for close encounters and documentary photography of spider monkeys, capuchins, parrots, spectacled bears (occasionally), and ongoing jungle rescue and rehabilitation work. Afternoon return to Coroico with optional sunset ridge photography or rest at the eco-lodge.
- Day 6: Return to La Paz and check in to hotel for the night.
- Day 7: March 29th, 2027 - Departure from LPB La Paz International at any time on this day. Transfer included.
If you’re interested in joining this add-on, the price of the jungle post-tour is €2549 euros, which can be added to your final payment invoice. Please keep in mind that this itinerary is also subject to change depending on availability of the activities and local guides. The single supplement for this add-on is €449.
What is TRVL° All About?
In short, the motto is simple: “Explore. Adventure. Capture.”
At its core, TRVL° is built around travel photography, with every itinerary thoughtfully designed to create strong photographic opportunities while also encouraging real connection with the places we visit. You will come away with compelling images, but more importantly, with meaningful experiences, lasting memories, and stories that go far beyond the frame. We focus on stepping into the unknown, discovering new places, and building a genuine connection with the world around you.
TRVL° is not a traditional photography workshop, and that is intentional. Our journeys balance guided photography moments with space for independent exploration, creativity, and discovery, allowing photography to become both a creative tool and a way of engaging more deeply with each destination. We work closely with local photographers, tour operators, and guides to support and uplift the communities we visit, creating authentic cultural connections for our participants. If this resonates with you, you’re in the right place.
If you’re curious to learn more about our philosophy & approach, you can visit our About Us page for more detailed information.
Your Adventure Tour Leaders
Eelco Bakker – @bakkeritophotography
Back in 2004, Eelco spent a transformative year living in Bolivia, immersing himself in the country’s astonishing diversity. Fom the surreal, mirror-like salt flats of the Altiplano to the lush, untamed life of the Amazon basin. It was a journey of exploration, not only across landscapes but into culture, rhythm, and story. With his camera always at the ready, Eelco began to shape a visual diary through photography. His lens became a bridge between experience and memory, capturing not just scenery, but the cultural spirit of Bolivia.
That year planted a seed. Over the next two decades, Eelco continued to hone his craft and deepen his connection to storytelling through photography. Now, returning to Bolivia as a TRVL° leader feels like a dream realised, a full-circle moment. You can see Eelco’s work at bakkeritophotography.com
Nick Page – @nickpagephotography
From a small town in South Eastern Washington state, I am the host of “the Landscape Photography Podcast”, a workshop instructor, pro photographer, and history nerd.
I travel around the globe talking and teaching photography to other like minded passionate photographers.
When not recording tutorials or chasing light I golf, play music and watch gold mining reality shows, but mostly I chase light.
