Adventure Series: The TRVL° Photography Adventure Series pushes beyond the familiar, taking photographers into rugged environments, unpredictable conditions, and some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes. These expeditions are built for those who value immersion over convenience, combining rewarding hikes, remote camps, and unforgettable photographic opportunities where the experience is every bit as important as the images.

On this Patagonia expedition, much of our journey takes us deep into the mountains on foot. We spend four days hiking and camping within the Fitz Roy trail network, allowing us to photograph iconic locations at sunrise, sunset, and under changing weather conditions long after the day hikers have returned to town. All logistics, including professional mountain guides, porters, and full camp support, are arranged for you so you can focus entirely on the experience and your photography.

This expedition does come with some challenges. Consecutive days of hiking, rapidly changing mountain weather, and camping in remote locations require a reasonable level of fitness and a sense of adventure. Patagonia is famous for its strong winds and unpredictable conditions, but these are also what make it one of the most rewarding and dynamic landscapes to photograph.

How is the Accommodation?

The accommodation on this Patagonia expedition is a blend of comfort and remote wilderness experience, carefully designed to suit the nature of the journey. Across the trip, you can expect nine nights in simple but comfortable lodges, hotels, and guest houses in Puerto Natales, El Calafate, El Chaltén, and Torres del Paine, offering warm beds, hot showers, and a welcoming place to recover between shooting locations.

In contrast, we also spend three nights camping in the Fitz Roy trail network, staying close to the mountains to access key locations at the best light and away from day visitor crowds. These camping nights are fully supported, allowing you to focus on photography rather than logistics.

All accommodation is based on twin share. A single supplement is available, price is an additional €1,997 which can be added to your final payment invoice. This will guarantee your own room and tent throughout the entire trip. 

For those who want a more hands-on experience, it is also possible to bring your own tent, sleeping bag, and camping equipment. That said, tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, hiking poles, and other essential camping gear will be rented and proivided as part of the tour from our trusted local providers in El Chaltén, who are able to supply virtually everything we might need. During the hiking section, porters will assist with carrying gear, making the camping portion as comfortable and accessible as possible while still feeling genuinely wild and immersive.

Level 4 – Demanding:

This Patagonia expedition involves significant physical activity and multiple consecutive days of hiking in remote mountain environments. Expect daily hikes ranging from 6–12 km, often on uneven terrain and with sustained elevation gain and loss. Conditions can be highly unpredictable, with rapidly changing weather including strong winds, rain, and shifting visibility, all of which are a defining part of the Patagonia experience.

A good level of fitness is required to fully enjoy the itinerary, as the combination of distance, terrain, and weather can be physically demanding over several days. While the experience is challenging, it is carefully structured to be achievable for fit and motivated hikers with a sense of adventure.
